The Hollywood Hills

The Hollywood Hills

Welcome To Hollywood Hills

About Hollywood Hills

The very name evokes excitement, wonder, images of parties both wild and elegant, money, fame and fortune. And with good reason: the past and present residents of these storied Hills include quite a number of the famous, as well as the infamous. Most current residents can spin a yarn or two about someone famous in their neighborhood, from Jim Morrison to Humphrey Bogart, Henry Houdini to George Clooney.

Want to hike to the Hollywood Sign?

The Hollyridge Trail access via Beachwood Canyon is now blocked off. To get to the Trail, use instead Canyon Drive to the east. You can park your car at the trailhead and go from there. Warning: this trail is steep! If you're not up to the Hollyridge Trail via Canyon Drive, take the longer, easier hike via Brush Canyon Trail. Canyon Drive becomes Canyon Trail. Turn due west at the Mulholland Trail and you'll get to the sign. For more hiking options to the Sign, visit my facebook page and scroll down for the article I posted on this topic on April 30, 2017.

Hollywood Hills Real Estate

Encompassing an area of roughly 7 square miles, Hollywood Hills runs from about Griffith Park on the East, to Sunset or Hollywood Boulevards on the South, to Wileacre Park on the West and Universal City to the North; of course, not in a nice neat little square package, however. The median homeowner is 37 years old with a median household income of $70,000; 55% of homeowners have at least a 4 year college degree.

Where housing is concerned, Hollywood Hills has it all. In the last 6 months, homes have sold anywhere from $200,000 to $14,533,000, with a median sales price of $1,750,000. While most of us cannot hope to own a home at the high end of that price range, many can afford the lower. The median sales price in Hollywood Hills West over the last six months is $1,892,500, while the median sales price in Hollywood Hills East is $1,450,000. The dividing line between East and West is the Hollywood Freeway, otherwise known as the 101 Freeway.

There are many different communities and neighborhoods in the Hills and you’ll have a lot of fun winding around the hillsides checking them out. I’ve included a list to the right side of your screen of the major neighborhoods. Just click on the neighborhood for more information, or simply search for homes for sale.
